90,000 OFWs nawalan ng trabaho sa pandemic ng COVID-19

Halos 90,000 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na ang nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pandemic ng COVID-19 sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo.

Sa ulat ng Philippine Overseas Labor Offices sa 40 posts sa mundo, 89,436 na OFWs na ang nawalan ng trabaho o hindi nakakasweldo.

Ayon naman sa DOLE, mahigit 200,000 OFWs naman ang humirit ng cash assistance sa kanilang AKAP Program.

Mas mataas ito kumpara sa target na 150,000 na OFWs na matulungan sa ilalim ng AKAP.

Mayroong nakalaan na P1.5 billion na budget sa COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program o AKAP.

Bawat OFW ay target na mabigyan ng P10,000 na tulong-pinansyal.
