BSP, inaasahan ang mababang 2020 cash remittances

Dahil marami na ring Filipino sa ibang bansa ang nawalan o nabawasan ang kabuhayan, inaasahan na ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang pagbagsak ng cash remittances.

Ayon kay BSP Asst. Gov. Iluminada Sicat, ikinokonsidera na rin ang pagbabalik-bansa ng maraming OFW kayat bababa pa ang cash remittances mula sa ibang bansa.

Aniya, maaring 0.2 hanggang 0.8 percentage point ang maging pagbaba.

Una nang inihayag ni BSP Gov. Benjamin Diokno na nakakakita lang siya ng dalawang porsiyentong pagtaas at noong 2019 ang cash remittances ay tumaas ng 4.1 porsiyento na may katumbas na $30.133 billion.

Noong nakaraang Enero umangat na ng 6.6 porsiyento o $2.64 billion ang overseas Filipinos’ remittances kumpara sa $2.48 noong January 2019.
