Hanggang sa Hunyo 30, 2020 ang suspensyon ng voter registration sa buong bansa, ayon sa Comelec.
Sinabi ni Dir. James Jimenez, tagapagsalita ng Comelec, ang extension ay bunsod ng second extension nang pagpapatupad ng enhaced community quarantine hanggang sa Mayo 15 sa ilang piling lugar.
Ayon sa opisyal, hindi maisasagawa ang voter registration dahil limitado pa rin ang galaw ng mga tao.
Ito na ang ikatlong pagsuspinde sa pagpaparehistro ng mga botante dahil sa krisis na dala ng COVID-19.
Inanunsiyo ang unang suspensyon noong Marso 9 na epektibo hanggang Marso 31 at muli itong sinuspinde hanggang Abril 30.
“The period from May 1 to June 30 will give the Commission time to put in place anti-COVID 19 measures in relation to the conduct of the registration of voters once it resumes,” sabi pa ni Jimenez.
