UP Diliman, nilinaw na nakatanggap ng ayuda ang stranded construction workers sa campus
Nilinaw ng University of the Philippines – Diliman na nakatanggap ng ayuda ang mga stranded na construction worker sa loob ng campus.
Ito ay makaraang kumalat sa social media ang ulat na napilitan umanong kumain ang mga construction workers ng ligaw na hayop at prutas.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ng pamunuan ng unibersidad na direktang kinausap ng Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD) ang construction workers.
Dito nadiskubre na hindi naman nagugutom ang mga construction worker.
Nabigyan anila ng P4,000 ang kada construction worker noong March 17 at karagdagang P2,000 noong April 14 ng kanilang employer.
Ininspeksyon din ng OVCPD ang supply room at nakitang mayroong tatlong sako ng bigas at mga de lata mula sa All UP Workers Union at iba pang organisasyon.
Sinabi pa ng unibersidad na ikinagulat ng isang construction worker ang lumabas na balita dahil hindi naman sila nakapanayam.
Tiniyak naman ng UPD COVID-19 Task Force na matutugunan ang lahat ng pangangailangan sa lahat ng sektor sa unibersidad.
“In this time of uncertainty caused by the pandemic, there should be no room for paranoia and fake news. Media agencies should practice responsible journalism and citizens should verify news before sharing on social media,” giit pa ng unibersidad.
