Local production ng PPEs sisimulan na ayon sa IATF

Sisimulan na ng Pilipinas ang paggawa ng local production ng medical-grade personal protective equipment para sa mga health workers na nakikipagbuno sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexi Nograles, tagapagsalita ng Inter Agency Task Force on Infectious Diseases, 10,000 piraso ng PPE ang kayang gawin ng pamahalaan sa pakikipagtulungan na rin ng mga kumpanyang kasapi ng Confederation of Wearable Exporters of the Philippines.

“After several tests by DOH and PGH, CONWEP refitted the design prototypes until these were approved by the DOH and PGH. Raw materials for these will be shipped in by this week and the roll out of production at the garment factories will immediately start after the Holy Week. Once operational, these factories will be able to produce 10,000 PPEs a day. Sampung libong PPEs kada araw po,” pahayag ni Nograles.

Kasabay nito, sinabi ni Nograles tax at duty free na rin ang mga donasyon na PPE.

“Ngayon alam po namin na marami pa ring mga indibidwal na tumutulong at nagpapadala ng donasyon ng PPEs at ibang kagaimtan mula sa ibang bansa. Sa mga gusto pa magpadala ng kagamitan dito, tax at duty free na po ang pag-import ng PPEs at Medical Emergency Supplies,” pahayag ni Nograles.
