LOOK: Nakadaong na barko sa Iloilo City ginawang pansamantalang tirahan ng frontliners

Nagagamit na ng mga frontliner sa Iloilo City ang barkong nakadaong sa Iloilo River bilang pansamantala nilang tirahan.

Ayon sa Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office ang barko ay pagmamay-ari ng maritime school na John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University.

Mayroon itong 200 bed-capacity pero bilang pagsunod sa social distancing ay 100 katao lang ang pinayagang makagamit dito.

Ang naturang barko ay ginagamit na ngayon ng traffic frontliners, city health personnel at mga miyembro ng emergency operation center.

Nagpapasalamat naman si Iloilo Mayor Jerry Treñas, sa may-ari ng M/V Capt. John B. Lacson sa pagpapagamit ng barko.

Ayon sa alkalde, malaking tulong ito dahil hindi na kailangang bumiyahe pauwi ng frontliners at maiiwas din sa paganib ang pamilya nila.
