Indian national huli sa pagbebenta ng overpriced na thermal scanner

Arestado ang isang Indian national dahil sa pagbebenta ng overpriced na thermal scanners.

Sa ginawang entrapment operation ng Manila Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group sa isang tindahan ng mga medical supply sa Sta. Cruz, Maynila huli sa akto ang suspek na kinilalang si Mukesh Chandwani, 31-anyos, habang nagbebenta ng mga thermal scanner sa halagang P5,000 kada piraso.

Gayong ang suggested retail price lang ng thermal scanners ayon sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ay P3,400 lamang.

Bukod rito, may umiiral ring price freeze sa mga medical supply dahil sa banta ng Coronavirus Disease 2019.

Sa nasabing operasyon, apat na kahon na naglalaman ng mahigit 100 piraso ng thermal scanner ang nakumpiska ng pulisya na nagkakahalaga ng halos P600,000.

Mahaharap naman ang suspek sa mga kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 7581 o ang Price Act at Republic Act 7394 o Consumer Act of the Philippines, Article 14 ng Revised Penal Code at Memorandum Circular ng Department of Trade and Industry patungkol sa Anti-Hoarding at Anti-Panic Buying.
