DILG, ipinag-utos sa PNP na ituloy ang paghuli sa curfew violators
Ipinag-utos ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa Philippine National Police o PNP na ituloy ang paghuli sa mga lumalabag sa ipinatutupad na curfew sa kasagsagan ng enhanced community quarantine.
Ayon kay DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, tinalakay niya ang direktiba kay PNP chief General Archie Gamboa.
Inatasan aniya ang Joint Task Force COVID Shield na ipagpatuloy ang paghuli para mapakita sa publiko kung gaano kaseryoso ang gobyerno sa ipinatutupad na ECQ.
Ang JTF CV Shield ay enforcement arm ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases kung saan kabilang ang PNP, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), at Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
“Marami pa rin tayong pasaway na mga kababayan. The only way they will follow the law is if we make arrests,” ayon sa kalihim.
Sa unang 11 araw ng enhanced community quarantine, umabot na sa kabuuang 42,826 ang nahuling curfew violators mula March 17 hanggang March 27.
Sa nasabing bilang, 12,094 ay mula sa Metro Manila.
Sinabi ni Año na dadalhin ang lahat ng nahuling lumabag sa pinakamalapit na police station para sa imbestigasyon at paghahain ng kaso.
Sa pagsasampa ng kaso, gagamitin aniya ang “e-inquest” project ng Department of Justice (DOJ) kung saan isasagawa ang virtual inquest proceedings sa pamamagitan ng video calls at conference at iba pang available na electronic communications.
Naglabas na aniya ang DOH ng general rues para sa procedure ng pagsasagawa ng e-inquest sa bansa.
