Mariing kinondena ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ang pag-atake ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa tropa ng pamahalaan sa Rodriguez, Rizal.
Nangyari ang engkwentro sa bahagi ng Barangay Puray noong araw ng Sabado, March 28.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ni Atty. Jacqueline Ann de Guia, tagapagsalita ng CHR, ang pag-atake ay walang idinulot kundi panganib sa buhay ng mga tao sa komunidad.
“This atrocity contributes nothing but further danger to the lives of the people in the communities and breaks the spirit of declaring ceasefire for a humanitarian cause,” pahayag ni de Guia.
Kasunod nito, hinikayat ng CHR ang komunistang grupo na tumalima sa ipinangakong tigil putukan sa kasagsagan ng kinakaharap na global pandemic.
“At all times, we urge both parties to let human rights and the general welfare of all as guide for their conduct, especially at this difficult time that our nation is facing,” dagdag pa nito.
Nagpasalamat din ang CHR sa lahat ng nagpapaabot ng tulong para labanan ang COVID-19 sa bansa.
