Kinumpirma na ng Malacañang ang pagbibitiw sa puwesto ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.
Sa isang statement, sinabi ni Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. na tinanggap na ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III ang resignation ni Del Rosario.
Magiging epektibo ang pagbibitiw nito sa puwesto sa March 7, 2016.
Sinasabing may kinalaman sa kalusugan ang pagbibitiw ng Kalihim.
Sa nakalipas na dalawang taon, dumaranas umano ng problema sa kanyang spinal column ang 76-anyos na si Del Rosario.
Si Del Rosario ang naitalang pinakamayamang Kalihim sa Gabinete ni Pangulong Aquino na may net worth na P838 million.
Si DFA Undersecretary for International and Economic Relations ang papalit umano dito sa puwesto .
