BI, naglunsad ng medical task group laban sa COVID-19

Bumuo ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) ng medical task group para tulungan ang kanilang frontline officers na nagtatrabaho sa mga paliparan para maiwasang mahawa ng COVID-19

Ipinag-utos ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ang pagtatalaga sa 18 immigration officers para bumuo ng ad hoc medical team na tututok sa hakbang ng ahensya para labanan ang COVID-19 sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Ang 18 immigration officer ay mga registered/licensed nurses.

Nagbaba ng direktiba sa team members na i-report sa BI medical section, sa pangunguna ni Dr. Marites Ambray, ang instructions at maging handa sakaling kakailanganing rumesponde anumang atensyong medikal.

Ani Morente, ang nasabing hakbang ay kasunod ng pagsailalim sa enhanced community quarantine sa buong Luzon.

“Our immigration officers, like our health workers, are also in the frontlines of our campaign against the COVID-19. It is only proper that they be protected against this virus and extended medical attention should they need it,” dagdag ni Morente.

Ipinag-utos din ni Morente sa medical team na huwag papasukin ang sinumang BI officer na mayroong sintomas ng virus.

Nagpaalala rin ang BI Commissioner sa frontline officers ng ahensya na mayroong flu-like symptoms na lumiban muna sa trabaho at boluntaryong sumailalim sa 14-day self-quarantine para maprotektahan hindi lamang ang kanilang sarili kundi maging ang iba pang officer.
