Pagdami ng mabubuntis dahil sa enhanced community quarantine pinangangambahan ng POPCOM

Pinaalalahanan ng Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) ang mga mag-asawa sa responsableng pagpapamilya at family planning.

Ayon sa POPCOM, oportunidad para sa mga mag-asawa ang enhanced community quarantine upang mag-usap sa mga responsibilidad bilang mga magulang at magkabiyak sa buhay.

Gayunman, sabi ng ahensya malaking challenge sa mag-asawa upang maiwasan ang unplanned pregnacy dahil sa kawalan ng access sa family planning supplies and services.

Sabi pa ni POPCOM executive director Usec. Juan Antonio Perez III, ilalaban nila na maisama sa essential services ang basic family planning sa mga komunidad upang maibsan ang impact ng unintended pregnancies.

Paliwanag nito, hindi matiyak kung kailan matatapos ang sitwasyon dulot ng COVID-19 kaya ayaw nila na madagdag sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon ang posibleng krisis ng hindi planadong pagbubuntis.

“We therefore call on couples and individuals to keep in mind family planning as they try to maintain their overall health and well-being inside their respective homes during these trying times,” dagdag ni Perez.

Kaugnay nito, hinikayat ng POPCOM ang mga LGU na mamahagi ng family planning supplies tulad ng pills at condoms na tatagal ng tatlong buwan.

Ginawa ng opisyal ang pahayag dahil base anya sa kasaysayan at tumataas ang bilang ng mga nabubunyis tuwing mayroong mga kalamidad dahil may matagal na panahon ang mga mag-asawa at magkarelasyon na magtalik.
