Ceasefire ng CPP epektibo na simula bukas, Mar. 26

Tumalima ang Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) sa panawagan ni UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres ng ‘global ceasefire’ dahil sa pandaigdigang krisis dulot ng COVID 19.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng CPP, ang hakbang ay alinsunod na rin sa rekomendasyon ng Negotiating Panel ng National Democratic Front of the Philippines.

Ang kautusan ng tigil-putukan ay para sa New People’s Army (NPA) at sa kanilang mga tagasuporta at epektibo ito bukas, Marso 26 hanggang sa pagsapit ng hatinggabi ng Abril 15.

Ipinatitigil sa kautusan ang paglulunsad ng opensiba laban sa mga sundalo, pulis at government para-military groups alang-alang sa ginagawang mga hakbang para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID 19 at para pangalagaan na rin ang kalusugan at kapakanan ng mamamayan.

Sinabi rin ng partido na sinimulan na nila ang sariling pakikidigma laban sa nakakamatay na sakit.

Umiiral na ang Suspension of Military Operations (SOMO) at Suspension of Police Operations (SOPO) na ipinag-utos ng gobyerno sa AFP at PNP.
