Dating Chief Security Aide ni Kris, kandidato sa pagka-AFP Chief

AFP logoMay isang linggo pa si Pangulong Benigno Aquino III para pag-isipan kung sino ang hihirangin niyang bagong hepe ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) kapalit ng magreretirong si AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang.

Limang 3-star generals ang pupulungin ni Pangulong Aquino sa Malakanyang at isa sa kanila ang maaring mahirang na bagong pinuno ng sandatahang lakas.

Ang lima ay kinabibilangan nina Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Hernando Irreberi, Air Force Commanding General Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Delgado, Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. Gen. Ricardo Visaya, Western Command Chief Vice Admiral Alexander Lope at Central Command Chief Lt. General Nicanor Vivar.

Si Delgado ay naging miyembro ng Presidential Security Group noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Cory Aquino at naging Chief Security Aide ng Presidential Sister na si Kris Aquino.

Sina Irreberi at Visaya naman ay kapwa miyembro ng PMA Class of 1983. Habang si Lopez at Vivar ay miyembro ng PMA class of 1982.

Sinasabing si Irreberi ay malapit kay Defense Sec. Voltaire Gazmin dahil naging adviser at tagapagsalita niya ito.

Ang limang military generals ang inirekomenda ng Board of Generals na maaring ipalit kay Catapang na magreretiro sa serbisyo sa susunod na Biyernes. / Jan Escosio
