Sen. Grace Poe inihirit ang ‘risk allowance’ para sa medical frontliners

Nais ni Senator Grace Poe na mabigyan ng ‘special risk allowance’ ang lahat ng public healthcare frontliners na nalalagay sa panganib ang buhay para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19.

Binanggit ni Poe ang hirit sa kanyang interpelasyon sa Bayanihan to Heal as One Act sa special session ng Senado.

Katuwiran nito, higit pa sa hazard pay ang nararapat na matanggap ng mga doktor, nurse at ipa pang public health workers dahil kakaiba ang sitwasyon na kinalalagyan nila ngayon.

“While the law states that they shall receive a hazard pay, we propose that a special risk allowance be added to this pay because our health workers are confronted with a different kind of hazard this time, which can be potentially fatal when they are not able to take the necessary safety precautions,” ani Poe.

Nakasaad sa Magna Carta of Public Health Workers, ang hazard allowance ng mga nasa Salary Grade 19 pababa ay katumbas ng 25 porsiyento ng kanilang buwanang sahod at limang porsiyento naman sa mga nasa Salary Grade 20 pataas.

Hinimok ni Poe ang Department of Finance at Department of Budget na gumawa ng paraan para may mapaghugutan ng karagdagang benepisyo na kanyang hinihingi.

Maging sina Sen. Panfilo Lacson at Sen. Richard Gordon ay inihirit na maisama sa ipinasang panukalang batas ang mga karagdagang benepisyo para sa mga health workers, kasama na ang P1M tulong at life insurance.
