Ikaapat na linggo ng Marso, idineklara ni Pangulong Duterte bilang National Week of Prayer
Idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang ikaapat na linggo ng Marso sa taong 2020 bilang National Week of Prayer.
Ito ay para matapos na ang problema sa COVID-19.
Base sa Proclamation 934 na nilagdaan noong Sabado, March 21, hinihikayat ng Pangulo ang sambayanang Filipino kahit na ano pa ang relihiyon o tradisyon na sama-samang manalangin habang hinaharap ang problema sa COVID-19.
“During the aforesaid week, I urge all Filipinos of all faiths, religious traditions and backgrounds to unite our hearts in prayer as we face the COVID-19 threat, fixing our eyes on the Almighty in this time of affliction,” ayon sa pangulo.
Hinihikayat din ng Pangulo ang lahat na ipanalangin ang mabilis na paggaling ng mga tinamaan ng sakit na COVID-19 at paghilom ng sugat ng mga naulila o ang mga nawalan sa buhay.
Dapat din aniyang ipanalangin ng lahat ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa lalo na ang mga nasa laylayan sa lipunan.
Ayon sa Pangulo, dapat din na ipanalangin ng lahat ang pagiging matatag ng medical professionals, health workers na nasa frontline pati na ang mga sundalo, pulis at iba pang law enforcement officer, ang mga government official at personnel na tumutugon sa banta ng COVID-19.
“I ask everyone to pray for the recovery of those who are now suffering from COVID-19, for comfort to those who lost loved ones, and for the protection of all, especially the most vulnerable sectors of society. Pray also for strength and endurance for our outstanding medical professionals and health workers on the frontliners, your military and law enforcement officers, the government officials and personnel dealing with the present threat, and all Filipinos who are woking tirelessly to protect our communities, sacrificing their lives in the service of the country,” pahayag ng pangulo.
Umaasa ang Pangulo na sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pananalangin at sa awa ng Panginoon, mapagtatagumpayan at malalabanan ang COVID-19 na aniya’y isang invisible enemy.
“Through prayer, let us, as one nation, find strength to defeat the invisible enemy, with the aid and blessing of God,” dagdag pa nito.
