Gobyerno pinabibili ng mga pagkain na ipamimigay sa mga mahirap
Hinimok ng Deputy Majority Leader at Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera ang pamahalaan upang bumili ng pagkain sa mga restaurant na ipamamahagi sa mga mahihirap na pamilya.
Ayon kay Herrera, malaking tulong ang mga ito sa mga restaurant dahil marami ang napilitang magsara habang nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine ang Luzon.
Sinabi nito na maraming mga stock na pagkain ang mga restaurant at sa halip na mabulok at hindi mapakinabangan ay bilhin na lamang ng gobyerno ang mga luto nilang pagkain.
“These restaurants are stocked up on food, and instead of putting them to waste, I am calling on the government to take the initiative to buy food from these restaurants, which we can distribute to the poorest communities in Luzon,” saad ni Herrera.
Iginiit nito na marami rin sa ngayon ang “no work, no pay” kaya hindi alam kung saan kukunin ang kanilang mga kakainin kaya kung bibili ng mga pagkain na ibibigay sa mga mahihirap ang gobyerno sa mga restaurant ay makatutulong din sa mga may-ari ng ng nasabing negosyo.
Sabi pa ng mambabatas, “This way, we are not only ensuring that there’s food for underprivileged Filipino families, we are also extending help to restaurant owners who are now crippled by the coronavirus outbreak”.
Dagdag ni Herrera, bukod sa pagtulong sa mga mangggawa ay dapat ding bigyan ng ayuda ang mga maliiit na negosyo.
