San Miguel mamamahagi ng “Nutribun”

Binuhay ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC) ang ginagawa noon na pamamahagi ng “nutribun” sa publiko.

Sinimulan na ng SMC ang paggawa ng tinapay na may bitamina at ipamimigay ito sa mahihirap na pamilya sa Metro Manila na walang access o hindi makabili ng pagkain sa gitna ng outbreak ng COVID-19.

Ang unang batch ng Nutribuns ay idodonate ng SMC sa Caritas Manila.

Ayon kay SMC president at chief operating officer Ramon Ang mayrrong nutrients ang tinapay na magbibigay ng energy at mayroon itong 250 calories per bun.

“This is safe, sufficient and nutritious food for the hardest-hit families facing hunger as a result of the COVID-19 crisis,” ayon kay Ang.

Noong dekada 70 ay ipinamimigay ang Nutribun sa mga paaralan sa elementarya.

“We will continue to step up and find creative ways to help the neediest and most vulnerable. Panic will not solve anything. We have the means, we just have to work together to win this battle,” dagdag pa ni Ang.
