Duterte sa LGU: Sundin niyo ang national government

Inatasan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ag mga lokal na opisyal na sundin ang guidelines ng pamahalaan sa umiiral na enhanced community quarantine sa Luzon.

Sa kaniyang speech na umere madaling araw na ng Biyernes (March 20) ipinaalala nito na ang national government ang maglalatag ng mga hakbang sa krisis sa COVID-19 at ang local government units (LGUs) ay dapat sumunod.

Sinabi ni Duterte na dapat sumunod ang LGUs sa rules na itinakda ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Lahat aniya ng malamamang nagmamalabis sa tungkulin ay mahaharap sa kasong administratibo at kriminal.

Inatasan ng pangulo ang Department of the Interior and Local Government at ang Department of Justice na bantayang mabuti ang compliance ng LGUs sa ipinatutupad na lockdown procedure.

“Wala namang gusto nito eh [No one wants this]. We don’t want to be lording it over your LGUs. I do not want to do that, that’s an added task. Sundin lang natin. Huwag kang magbiyahe ng sarili mo [Let’s just obey. Don’t do it your way],” ayon sa pangulo.
