Isinailalim na rin sa state of calamity ang probinsya ng Sorsogon.
Ito ay bunsod pa rin ng banta ng Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Ayon sa Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (SPDRRMC), inaprubahan ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ang Resolution No. 156-2020 para sa pagdedeklara ng state of calamity.
Sa ngayon, nananatiling COVID 19-free o wala pang naitatalang kaso ng nakakahawang sakit sa probinsya.
Samantala, hinikayat naman ni Governor Chiz Escudero ang Department of Health (DOH) na maglabas ng malinaw na protocol sa pagsusuri ng mga senior citizen at mga residente na mababa ang resistensya.
“Given the pandemic and limited number of test kits, DOH should establish CLEAR protocols on who will be tested such as the elderly and immuno-compromised. These vulnerable persons and not just anybody, regardless of social stature or position, should be prioritized,” ani Escudero.
