Anti-COVID monitoring at help desk, ipinapatayo sa bawat barangay
Hinikayat ni House Committee on Economic Affairs Vice Chairman at Ang Probinsyano Rep. Ronnie Ong ang pamahalaan na maglagay ng anti-COVID monitoring and help desks sa lahat ng barangay sa bansa.
Ayon kay Ong, sa kabila ng paglalagay sa Metro Manila at iba pang lugar sa community quarantine ay nagbabadya pa rin ang pagkalat ng nakamamatay na COVID-19.
Sabi ni Ong, dapat magtayo ang Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases ng COVID-19 Protocol and Monitoring Helpdesk and Testing Centers sa mga barangay upang maiwasan pa ang pagkalat ng sakit.
Iginiit nito na hanggang hindi pa nahahanapan ng gamot ang kinatatakutang sakit ay dapat magkaroon ng matinding hakbang ang gobyerno panlaban dito.
Dagdag ni Ong, “We have to prepare for a long and hard battle to defeat this disease and our main battleground will be our communities, specifically our barangays.:
Kung maagapan anya ang pagtukoy sa sakit sa mga barangay pa lamang ay malaki ang tyansa na mailayo ang iba pang komunidad sa COVID-19.
Dapat anyang i-activate ng task force ang mga barangay health workers bilang mga frontliner sa paglaban sa virus.
Gayunman, sabi ni Ong kailangang mayroon ang mga itong Personal Protective Equipment o PPE.
Inirekomenda nito na kung available na ang test kit at ang mga taong may nararamdamang sintomas ng COVID-19 ay maaring magtungo sa mga itatayong barangay monitoring and help desks upang masuri.
Sabi pa ni Ong, “I recommend that we set up barangay monitoring and helpdesks for residents who feel that they may have been infected by the COVID-19 virus. If test kits are already available, they can administer tests with the help of health professionals but if not, these barangay monitoring and helpdesks can help implement quarantine protocols until after the DOH conducts proper testing”.
Hinikayat din nito ang pamahalaan na bilisan ang testing at approval ng test kit na ginawa ng UP National Institute of Health upang magamit na ng publiko.
“We badly need easier access to COVID-19 tests. Dapat per barangay or cluster of barangays ang testing center para hindi na magcommute o ‘bumyahe’ pa ang possible carriers of virus sa lugar,” wika pa ng mambabatas.
