Kaso ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas maaring umakyat sa 70,000 kung hindi kikilos ang pamahalaan

Nagbabala ang World Health Organization (WHO) na aabot sa mahigit 70,000 ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa kapag hindi gagawa ng hakbang ang pamahalaan upang maiwasan ang paglaganap nito.

Sa panayam ng Radyo Inquirer, sinabi ni Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya na ito ang dahilan kaya nagpasya ang inter-agency task force na ipanukala kay Pangulong Duterte ang pagtataas ng Code Red Alert sub level 2.

Sinabi ni Malaya na base sa projections ng WHO na ibinigay sa pamahalaan, 70,000 hanggang 75,000 katao sa Pilipinas ang lantad sa COVID-19.

Maari din umanong umabot sa 4 percent ang mortality rate sa bansa kapag hindi pa gagawa ng “drastic measures” ang gobyerno.

Simula sa Linggo, March 15 ay ipatutupad na ang community quarantine sa Metro Manila para maiwasan ang pagtaas pa ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
