P3.1B na supplemental fund ng DOH para sa COVID-19 aprubado na ng komite sa kamara

Aprubado na sa House Committee on Appropriations ang panukalang supplemental fund para sa Department of Health (DOH) upang labanan ang COVID-19.

Kabuung P1.65 billion ang inaprubahang pondo ng komite ni ACT-CIS Rep. Eric Yap sapagkat ito lamang ang available na pondo sa Bureau of Treasury.

Sa pagdinig ng komite sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Roger Tong-an na P3.1 billion ang kanilang kakailanganing pondo para sugpuin ang kinatatakutang sakit.

Sa naturang halaga ay P2.35 million dito ang gagamitin para sa pagbili ng personal protective equipment (PPE), P933 million ang para sa maintenance and other operating expenses (MOOE) at salaries, at P139 million para sa bibilhing 40,000 na test kits.

Gayunman, ayon kay Tong-an mayroong iba pang mapagkukunan ng pondo para sa laban kontra COVID-19 kabilang PAGCOR na nangakong magbigay ng P2 billion habang ang PCSO naman ay P490 million.

Bukod dito ang DOH ay mayroon namang P539 million na savings at P81 million mula sa kanilang quick response funds na maari ring gamitin.

Sinabi naman ni Deputy Treasurer Sharon Almanza na mayroon pang ibang pagkukunan ng pondo ang gobyerno kabilang ang P13B contingency funds at P100 million na quick response fund ng DOH.
