WATCH: Pagpapatupad ng lockdown sa Metro Manila dahil sa COVID-19, premature pa – DOH

Premature pa para sa Department of Health (DOH) na magpatupad ng lockdown sa Metro Manila dahil sa Coronavirus Disease o COVID-19.

Tugon ito ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III sa panukala ni Albay Congressman Joey Salceda na i-lockdown na ang Metro Manila matapos makapagtala ng local transmission ng COVID-19.

Sa “Laging Handa” briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Duque na kinakailangan pa ng mga karagdagang ebidensya na patuloy na mayroong community transmission bago magpatupad ng lockdown o community quarantine.

Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin aniya ang DOH sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at sa Civil Service Commission (CSC) para pag-aralan ang rekomendasyon na mag-suspinde ng trabaho o ipatupad ang work from home.

“The protocol, in fact, includes that it might be premature to do it at this point. So we will have to wait until evidence of
sustained community transmission is presented. That will trigger the community lockdown or community quarantine,
which one of the interventions as reflected in our protocol, in our four-door response strategy,” ani Duque.

Sa pinakahuling talaan ng DOH, nasa 10 kaso na ng COVID-19 ang naitala sa bansa kung saan isa ang local transmission.
