DepEd, sinuspinde ang lahat ng national at regional events bunsod ng COVID-19
Sinuspinde ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang lahat ng naka-iskedyul na national at regional events kung saan sangkot ang mga estudyante tulad ng Palaro Regional Meets.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ni Education Secretary Leonor Briones na ito ay bunsod ng banta ng Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) sa bansa.
“Until further notice” aniya ang suspensyon ng mga aktibidad.
Depende naman aniya sa abiso ng Palaro board kung itutuloy ang Regional athletic meets at Palarong Pambansa sa buwan ng Mayo.
“Regional athletic meets only; the conduct of the Palarong Pambansa in May will be upon the advice of the Palaro board,” pahayag ni Briones.
Samantala, sinabi ng kalihim na tuloy pa rin ang pagdaraos ng National Festival of Talents (NFOT) at National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) dahil ang mga participant ay nakarating na sa venue,
Magpapatupad naman aniya ng mahigpit na pag-iingat sa NFOT at NSPC.
“Heightened precautions are being implemented at NFOT and NSPC, which include foregoing elements of the programs that can be avoided such as parades, etc,” ani Briones.
Hihintayin pa rin naman aniya ang “definitive advisory” ng Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases para sa gagawing desisyon sa iba pang aktibidad ng kagarawan.
