Naaresto ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang siyam na puganteng Koryano na wanted sa kasong may kinalaman sa telecommunication fraud.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, nahuli ang dayuhan sa ikinasang joint operation ng BI Intelligence Division, Korean police at Quezon City Police Department (QCPD), Miyerkules ng gabi.
Aniya, bahagi ito ng aksyon ng ahensya para linisin ang bansa mula sa mga illegal alien.
“This is the result of coordination with our foreign counterparts, as well as local law enforcement agencies. This is a team effort in cleansing our country of illegal aliens,” ani Morente.
Sinabi naman ni Fortunato Manahan, Jr., hepe ng BI Intelligence Division, natanggap nila ang impormasyon mula sa mga otoridad sa Korea na wanted ang siyam.
“These are wanted criminals wanted for voice phishing, whose victims are their compatriots in their country,” ayon kay Manahan.
Agad aniyang nakipag-ugnayan ang BI sa tanggapan ni PCol. Arthur Bisnar, Deputy District Director for Administration ng QCPD para magsagawa ng operasyon.
Mabilis din aniyang inilabas ni Morente ang mission order laban sa mga puganteng Koryano.
Isasailalim ang siyam sa booking procedures at deportation proceedings.
