DFA, ire-repatriate ang Filipino workers sa Hong Kong na nasibak sa trabaho sa gitna ng COVID-19
Pauuwiin ng Pilipinas ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang mga oversease Filipino worker (OFW) sa Hong Kong na nasibak sa trabaho sa gitna ng Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Sa Twitter, inihayag ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. na ihahanda nila ang “repatriation pronto” para sa mga apektadong OFW.
Dismayado aniya siya sa mga employer sa Hong Kong na nagtanggal sa ilang domestic workers sa nasabing bansa.
“I extracted promise from Chinese ambassador that they’d be given same protection from COVID-19 as HK residents. I shoulda specified “from Hongkongers,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.
Batay sa ulat ng South China Morning Post, isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit tinanggal ang mga OFW ay ang paglabas ng mga ito tuwing day-off sa kabila ng pagkalat ng virus sa bansa.
