Malakanyang, nais maimbestigahan si dating DOJ Sec. Aguirre dahil sa Pastillas scheme
Nais ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na maimbestigahan si dating Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II matapos idawit na protector sa Pastillas scheme o ito ang panunuhol ng mga Chinese sa mga tiwaling opisyal sa Bureau of Immigration (BI) para makapasok sa Pilipinas at makapagtrabaho sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO).
Pahayag ito ng Palasyo matapos ibunyag ng kolumnistang si Ramon Tulfo na sinabi umano sa kanya ng Immigration officer at whistleblower na si Allison Alex Chiong na si Aguirre ang kumukubra ng perang suhol ng mga Chinese.
Sa panayam ng Radyo Inquirer, sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo na dapat na magbigay ng ebidensya si Tulfo sa Philippine National Police (PNP) para maayos na maimbestigahan si Aguirre.
“I think Mr. Tulfo would know what to do with whatever information he has. He has to share that to the proper authorities,” ani Panelo.
Sa ngayon, aminado si Panelo na hindi pa makagalaw ang gobyerno dahil wala pa namang pormal na reklamo ang naisasampa laban kay Aguirre.
Pagtitiyak ni Panelo, mananagot sa kasong kriminal si Aguirre kung mapapatunayang sangkot ito sa Pastillas scheme.
“Alam mo ‘yung mga alegasyon na ganyan kailangan imbestigahan mo so if the good journalist has evidence, he should provide it to the police authorities. Eh kung may complaint na ganyan siyempre mga pulis mag-iimbestiga. The gov’t will always consider any complaint filed against anyone for investigation. Until such time we cannot just do anything. That’s a serious accusation. Kailangan meron kang ebidensya,” sinabi ni Panelo.
Taong 2016 nang italaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Aguirre bilang kalihim ng Department of Justice (DOJ) subalit sinibak din noong 2018.
