Of course, we will carefully observe togerther with the DFA ‘yung labor market forces in affected countries. But so far, there have been no negative signals in the sense na magbabawas sila or ayaw na nila ng Filipino,” ani Cacdac.

The one thing that I can share right now is we’re monitoring the situation of workers in Macau. Some of them have been placed in forced leave. But the Consulate General’s office and OWWA Welfare Officer there are in close touch with the Macau Ministry of Labor and the Macau Ministry of Labor is fully aware of the situation at ginagabayan din nila ‘yung mga kumpanya, the rights of the workers under Macau law…also we’re providing relief assistance to these workers who are meted forced leaves. We are assisting them as of the moment. Other than that we cannot foresee any significant joblosses,” dagdag pa nito.
