87 distressed OFWs mula Iraq, lebanon at UAE nakauwi na sa bansa

Nakapagpauwi ng 87 distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) mula sa Iraq, Lebanon, at United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola, ang nasabing bilang ng mga OFW ay nakauwi bago matapos ang buwan ng Pebrero.

Sa nasabing bilang, 3 ay mula sa Iraq, 62 ang mula sa Beirut, Lebanon at 14 mula sa Dubai.

Karamihan sa kanila ay pawang distressed OFWs, may mga tumakas sa kanilang amo, may mga hindi na na-renew ang kontrata at ang mga galing ng Dubai ay pawang biktima ng human trafficking.

Inabisuhan naman ni Arriola ang mga OFW na agad magtungo sa pinakamalapit na Philippine Embassy o konsulada kung nais nilang humingi ng tulong para makauwi na ng Pilipinas.
