Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Ginoong Eric Bito-on Distor bilang officer-in-charge ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Papalitan ni Distor si NBI director Dante Gierran na nagretiro sa serbisyo.
Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, naging epektibo ang panunungkulan ni Distor noon pang Pebrero 23.
Pansamantala lamang ang pag-upo sa puwesto ni Distor hanggat walang napipiling permanenteng NBI director si Pangulong Duterte o ang Office of the Executive Secretary.
“There’s a new officer-in-charge of the National Bureau of Investigation following the retirement of Director Gierran. It’s Mr. Eric Distor Bito-on Distor, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Director, National Bureau of Investigation, effective February 23 until a replacement is approved or until otherwise decided by the Office of the Executive Secretary,” ani Panelo.
