WATCH: Mga opisyal na sangkot sa “Pastillas modus,” sinibak
Sinibak na sa puwesto ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang mga opisyal at empleyado ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na sangkot sa “Pastillas scheme.”
Ito ang mga tiwalang tauhan ng BI na tumatanggap ng suhol mula sa mga Chinese para makapasok sa bansa at makapagtrabaho sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, ikinokonsidera ni Pangulong Duterte ang “Pastillas scheme” na pinakamatinding uri ng korupsyon na hindi kukunsintihin ng gobyerno.
”President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has relieved all officials and employees of the Bureau of Immigration who are involved in the latest bribery scheme where they purportedly facilitate the entry into — and exit from — Philippine territory of foreigners working for Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) for an unauthorized fee. The President considers this anomaly, which some define as the “pastillas scheme”, as a grave form of corruption which cannot be countenanced by the government. As we have repeatedly stressed, there are no sacred cows in this Administration. Any official or employee who commits any wrong in the performance of their respective duties shall be meted out with the punishment that they deserve and in accordance with our penal laws,”pahayag ni Panelo.
Ayon kay Panelo, ilalagay muna sa floating status ang mga sinibak na tauhan ng BI.
Hindi batid ni Panelo kung ilan ang pinasibak ni Pangulong Duterte.
May natanggap aniyang report si Pangulong Duterte ukol sa “Pastillas scheme” at may nahanap na prima facie o probable cause.
“Nagreklamo nga eh, may nag-report sa kanya, nagreklamo, and apparently the proof constitutes probable cause. That’s why they were sacked,” pahayag ni Panelo.
Ligtas naman si Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente sa sibakan.
Ayon kay Panelo, huhusgahan si Morente sa Cabinet meeting. Karaniwang isinasagawa ang Cabinet meeting tuwing unang Lunes ng buwan.
Sa ngayon, buo pa ang tiwala ni Pangulong Duterte kay Morente.
Tiniyak pa ni Panelo na mahaharap sa kaukulang kaso ang mga tauhan ng BI na mapatutunayang sangkot sa “Pastillas scheme.”
P10,000 ang ibinibayad ng isang Chinese sa tauhan ng BI para makapasok sa bansa.
Hindi na hinahanapan ng itinerary, return flights, at proof of travel ang mga Chinese national na nagbabayad sa pamamagitan ng mga nakarolyong pera na kung tawagin ay “Pastillas.”
