NUJP, nagsumite ng partial list ng petitioners para sa renewal ng prangkisa ng ABS-CBN
Nagsumite ang National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) ng partial list ng petitioners na nais ma-renew ang prangkisa ng ABS-CBN.
Personal na isinumite nina NUJP Secretary-General Dabet Panelo at Deputy Secretary Raymund Villanueva ang listahan ng petitioners sa Kongreso.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ng NUJP na pumirma ang 200,000 petitioners sa pamamagitan ng actual signature gathering ng iba’t ibang organisasyon sa Metro Manila.
Maliban dito, nagbigay din ang ahensya ng flash drive para ibigay ang online petition sa https://change.org.
Ayon sa NUJP, layon nitong ipakita ang suporta sa mga may-akda ng 11 franchise bills at panghihikayat na itakda ang talakayan ukol dito.
“The NUJP is undertaking this petition signing to show support to the authors of the 11 franchise bills and to urge the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Franchises to schedule their discussion,” ayon sa ahensya.
Hinikayat din nito ang Kongreso na maging independent at huwag magpa-impluwensiya sa executive at judicial branch ng gobyerno.
“In urging Congress to pass ABS-CBN’s franchise, we have it as paramount consideration the 11,000 or so media workers who are very anxious about their jobs,” dagdag pa nito.
