Central Luzon police, pinuri sa paghuli sa top NPA leader
Agad pinapurihan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Archie Gamboa ang Central Luzon Regional Police sa pamumuno ni Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia matapos ang pagkakahuli kay Rodolfo Salas, alyas Kumander Bilog.
Pinamunuan ni Salas ang New People’s Army (NPA) noong 1976 matapos naman maaresto si Bernabe Buscayno alyas Kumander Dante at pinamunuan din nito ang CPP Central Committee nang mahuli si Joma Sison noong 1977.
Inaresto si Salas sa Barangay Balibago sa Angeles City, Pampanga Martes ng umaga.
Isinilbi sa kanya ang warrant of arrest na ipinalabas ng isang korte sa Maynila noong nakaraang Agosto para sa kasong 15 counts ng murder.
Binanggit din ni Gamboa na sa pagpapatupad ng Executive Order 70 o ang End Local Communist Armed Conflict, 14 na miyembro ng NPA ang sumuko sa Central Luzon at binitbit din nila ang kanilang mga baril.
