WHO nagbigay ng Personal Protective Equipment sa mga tauhan ng San Lazaro Hospital

Nagkaloob ang World Health Organization o WHO Philippines ng ilang personal protective equipment o PPE sa mag tauhan ng San Lazaro Hospital sa lungsod ng Maynila.

Kabilang sa mga ibinigay ng WHO-PH ay medical goggles at face shields na magagamit ng mga staff ng ospital, lalo na ang mga health worker gaya ng mga nurse at doktor.

Ayon sa WHO-PH, mahalaga ang papel ng mga health worker lalo na ngayong nagpapatuloy pa rin ang banta ng 2019 Novel Coronavirus Acute Rrespiratory Disease o nCoV-ARD.

Dagdag ng organisasyon, ang mga PPE ay importante upang maprotektahan ang health workers na front liners o silang nag-aalaga at nag-oobserba sa mga pasyente na kumpirmado o may hinihinalang nCov-ARD.

Ang San Lazaro Hospital ay kilalang referral facility para Infectious/ Communicable Diseases, at dito dinadala ang ilang mga pasyenteng nakitaan ng sintomas ng nCoV-ARD.

Batay sa datos ng Department of Health o DOH, as of February 10 ay nananatili sa tatlo ang kumpirmadong kaso ng nCoV-ARD sa Pilipinas, kung saan isang pasyente ang nasawi.

Aabot naman sa higit tatlong daan ang bilang ng patients under investigation o PUIs.
