Ipinatutupad na travel ban pinalawig ng BI; Taiwan isinama na

Pinalawig na ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang ipinatutupad na travel ban dahil sa banta ng 2019 novel coronavirus.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente ito ay matapos na kumpirmahin ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na dapat sakop ng ban ang Taiwan.

Inatasan na ni Morente ang lahat ng immigration officials at personnel sa mga paliparan sa bansa na ipatupad na rin ang travel ban sa mga pasaherong galing Taiwan.

Una rito ay kinumpirma ng Department of Health (DOH) na kasama ang Taiwan sa ban.

Ito ay dahil sinusunod ng Pilipinas ang “One-China policy” kung saan ang mga bansang kontrolado ng China ay ikinukunsiderang bahagi ng People’s Republic of China.
