Senate inquiry kaugnay sa VFA nagsimula na

Sinimulan na ngayong araw ng Senate Foreign Relations Committee ang pagdinig kaugnay sa Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).

Ang komite ay pinamumunuan ni Senator Aquilino Pimentel III.

Maliban sa VFA, layunin din ng senate inquiry na aralin ang Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) at ang Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) na pawang kasunduan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at ng Amerika.

Ikinasa ang senate inquiry matapos sabihin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ibabasura niya ang VFA dahil sa pagkansela ng Amerika sa US visa ni Senator Ronald Dela Rosa.

Ang VFA ay naging epektibo taong 1999 at sa ilalim nito, ang mga sundalong Amerikano ay nagsasagawa ng pagbisita sa Pilipinas at nagkakaroo din ng military exercises ang mga sundalo ng dalawang bansa.
