Anibersaryo ng MPD, ipinagdiwang
Ipinagdiriwang ang ika-119 anibersaryo ng Manila Police District (MPD), araw ng Miyerkules (January 29).
Present sa selebrasyon sina Manila Mayor Isko Moreno at National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas.
Ang tema ng pagdiriwang sa taong 2020 ay “Isang siglo at labing siyam na taong paglilingkod – gabay sa tungkuling alay, matatag na kanlurang kapulisan – sandigan ng mapayapang Kamaynilaan.”
Nagsimula ang programa sa pamamagitan ng pag-aalay ng mga bulaklak ng mga panauhing pandangal, maging ng naiwang asawa ni Police Staff Sergeant Edgil Bombase. Si Bombase ay nasawi matapos makaengkwentro ang mga holdaper sa Sta. Cruz, Maynila.
Ginawaran naman ng pagkilala ang mga natatanging pulis-Maynila:

– P/Lt. Col. Andrew Aguirre – directorial staff of the year
– P/Lt. Col. Reynaldo Magdaluyo – station commander of the year
– P/Maj. Incocencio Richard Villanueva – pcp commander of the year
– P/Maj. Roberto Mupas – junior police commissioned officer for administration of the year
– P/Maj. Rosalino Ibay, Jr. – junior police commissioned officer for operations of the year
– P/Msg. Leandro Gatdula – senior police non commissioned officer dor administration of the year
– P/Ems Alma Dimasupil – senior police non commissioned officer dor operations of the year
– P/Ssg Carla Chantal Martin – junior police non commissioned officer dor administration of the year

– Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit – district operational support of the year
– District Police Strategy Management Unit – district administrative support of the year
– WCPD of Raxabago Tondo Police Station – women and children protection desk of the year
– P/Ssg Berhardo Calos – heroes award
– Pastor Jed Maderazo – kaibigan award
– Nap Magno – kaibigan award
Sa kanyang mensahe para sa anibersaryo ng MPD, sinabi ni Mayor Isko na bagaman saludo siya sa trabaho ng mga pulis-Maynila ay dapat mag-ingat pa rin ang mga ito alang-alang sa kanilang ng pamilya.
Nangako rin ang alkalde na susuklian niya ang serbisyo ng mga pulis.
“Hayaan ninyo ako’y tinutulungan ninyo na mapanatag ang ating mga kababayan, ako naman susukli ko sa inyo, magbubuti ako. para ang allowance lumaki.”
Samantala, iprinisinta naman ni MPD Director Brigadier General Bernabe Balba ang mga accomplishment ng MPD sa nagdaang taon.
MPD drug campaign accomplishments 2019:
– 5,787 arrested drug pushers
– 223 arrested drug users
– 7,761 grams of shabu seized
– 7,654 grams of marijuana seized
– 223 drug cleared barangays
– 1,568 graduated drug dependents
Ipinagmalaki rin ni Balba na apat na mga top most wanted ang kanilang naaresto, bukod pa sa 140 most wanted, at 1,111 na wanted persons.
Samantala, 87,295 naman ang kabuuang bilang ng mga naaresto ng MPD dahil sa paglabag sa iba’t ibang mga city ordinance.
