Kampanya vs korupsyon, hindi palpak – Palasyo

Asahan na mas marami pang tiwaling opisyal ng pamahalaan ang sisibakin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Pahayag ito ng Palasyo matapos ang ulat ng transparency international na bumaba sa ika-133 mula sa ika-99 na puwesto ang Pilipinas sa Corruption Perception Index noong 2019.

Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, patuloy na pinagsusumikapan ni Pangulong Duterte na labanan ang korupsyon sa bansa.

Pero ayon kay Panelo, hindi failure o palpak ang kampanya ng pangulo dahil ang katunayan, marami na siyang nasibak na opisyal na nasangkot sa korupsyon at nakasuhan sa Ombudsman.

“I don’t think so. Because precisely we’ve been fighting corruption and as we have seen, the President has been firing top government officials. And complaints against erring government officials have been charged in the Ombudsman and in the courts,” ani Panelo.

Pero ayon kay Panelo, tali kasi ang kamay ng pangulo dahil kinakailangan na sundin ang tamang proseso na isinasaad sa konstitusyon sa pagsibak sa isang opisyal.

“We are in fact struggling because the President’s hands are tied by the due process clause of the constitution. It would be different if all of these have been appointed by the President then you can just dismiss all of them outright. You have to file charges against them and you need evidences to back your complaint,” dagdag pa nito.
