P1.7M halaga ng mga nakumpiskang dried seahorses sinunog sa Cebu
Sinira ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Region 7 ang mga nakumpiskang mahigit P1 milyon halaga ng dried seahorses.
Katuwang ang mga tauhan ng Office for Transportation Security sa Mactan Cebu International Airport at Bureau of Customs ay ginawa ang disposal.
Sinunog ang 59 na kilo ng mga dried seahorses na nagkakahalaga ng P1.7 million.
Ang mga dried seahorses ay nakumpiska ng mga otoridad sa tatlong magkakahiwalay na insidente noong 2019.
Base sa presyuhan sa lokal na merkado ang bawat kilo ng seahorse ay ibinebenta ng f P30,000.
Ilan dayuhang pasahero ang ilang beses na nagtangkang magpuslit ng dried seahorses mula Cebu Airport patungo ng Macau.
Ginagamit kasi ito bilang traditional medicine ng mga Chinese.
