Inatasan na ni Pangulong Duterte na magtungo sa Middle East sina Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) Abdullah Mamao at Environment Sec. Roy Cimatu.

Ito ay para personal na alamin ang sitwasyon ng mga Filipino dahil sa tumitinding tensyon sa Gitnang Silangan.

Pinahahanda na rin ng pangulo ang gamit ng AFP na pwedeng gamitin sa posibleng paglilikas ng mga OFW.
