Epekto ng inflation sa mga mahihirap, mahahadlangan ng 2020 budget – Rep. Romero
Naniniwala si House Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero na isa ring ekonomista na mahahadlangan ng 2020 national budget ang epekto ng inflation sa mga mahihirap na Filipino.
Ayon kay Romero, mayroong P108.8 bilyong alokasyon para sa Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino sa ilalim ng nilagdaang P4.1-trillion national budget.
Samantala, inirekominda ni Romero sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at National Economic and Development Authority na ihiwalay ang sin taxes sa alcohol, tobacco at sweets sa food basket ng consumer price index.
Sa ganitong paraan anya ang inflation sa sin taxes sa naturang mga produkto ay hindi makakaapekto sa ibang food items.
Umaasa rin ito na masupil na rin sa taong 2020 ang African Swine Fever (ASF) na nakaapekto sa hog industry sa bansa noong nakaraang taon.
Pinahahanda naman din ng kongresista ng contingency plans ang Department of Agriculture (DA) sa posibleng epekto malamig na panahon sa Cordilleras pagdating sa mga hinahangong gulay doon.
