Parañaque ipagbabawal na ang single-use plastics
Inanunsyo ng pamahalaang panlungsod ng Parañaque araw ng Martes na ipagbabawal na sa kanilang lugar ang single-use plastics simula sa Hunyo.
Ayon sa City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO), ang ban sa single-use plastics ay bunsod ng Ordinance No. 18-40 series of 2019 ng lungsod.
Sa ilalim ng ordinansa, lahat ng establisyimento ay bawal nang gumamit ng styrofoam, plastic bags, straws, spoons and forks, cups at stirrers.
“No business establishment such as shops, restaurants, hotels, fast food chains, bars, food stalls, mobile food carts, food caterings and other establishments shall use styrofoam, plastic bags and single-use plastics containers including plastic straws and stirrers for their food and beverages,” ayon sa ordinasa.
Tanging ang manufacturers lamang ang papayagan na gumamit ng plastic para sa packaging.
Ang mga supermarket at public market vendors naman ay kailangang gumamit ng biodegradable plastic.
Ang mga lalabag ay pagmumultahin ng P5,000 sa kada paglabag.
Sa ikatlong paglabag, bukod sa multang P5,000 ay kakanselahin ang business permit at ipasasara ang establisyimento.
Layon ng ban sa single-use plastic na mabawasan ang problema ng bansa sa plastic waste.
