Duterte ibinanta ang government takeover sa water services
Ibinabala ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na gobyerno ang mamamahala sa water distribution system sakaling hindi sang-ayunan ng water firms ang bagong balangkas na water deals.
Sa ambush interview sa Malacañang Martes ng hapon, sinabi ng pangulo na sakaling hindi tanggapin ng Maynilad at Manila Water ang draft agreements ay gobyerno na ang magpapatakbo sa water system.
Magsasampa din anya ang pangulo ng plunder at large scale estafa laban sa water companies.
“I will have to operate the distribution system. It’s either they accept with no guarantee that they would not be prosecuted or if they do not accept it, then I will nationalize the water system and prosecute them for plunder or estafa on a large scale,” ani Duterte.
“There is no contract but what we are ready to give to the parties, distributors is a draft which we would like to be enforced instead of the old one, which we think is not good for the Filipinos…I have this draft so whether you accept it or not. Una nang sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo na sa binalangkas na bagong kasunduan ay wala nang mga pahirap na probisyon.
Sinabi naman ni Duterte na hindi minamadali ang Maynilad at Manila Water sa pagtanggap sa inamyendahang water deals.
