Datos ni VP Robredo sa war on drugs, pinasinungalingan ng PNP
“Totally wrong”
Ito ang naging pahayag ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ukol sa inilabas na datos ni Vice President Leni Robredo sa ulat nito ukol sa kampanya kontra sa ilegal na droga.
Sa press briefing sa Camp Crame, sinabi ni PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa na hindi sila sang-ayon sa ulat ni Robredo na bigo ang drug war.
“With all due respect, I beg to disagree with the public relations bombshell of VP Robredo of the national anti-drug campaign as a “massive failure”. Whether her numbers are merely an estimate or the exact value, in any case, the figure derived is totally wrong,” ani Gamboa.
Giit pa ng opisyal, hindi maitututring na “massive failure” ang drug war dahil nakapagkasa ng operasyon sa 14 clandestine laboratories at 419 drug dens.
Hindi aniya isang porsyento lamang ang na-demolish na 14 clandestine laboratories at sa halip ay nirerepresenta nito ang 100 porsyentong success rate dahil wala nang local production ng methamphetamine products sa bansa.
Maliban dito, ipinunto rin ni Gamboa ang mga nakumpiskang 5.1 na tonelada ng shabu, 2.2 na tonelada ng marijuana, 500 kilo ng cocaine at 42,473 Ecstacy pills. Sa datos aniya ng Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), mayroon itong estimated street value na P40.39 bilyon.
Dagdag pa ni Gamboa, simula nang ikasa ang war on drugs campaign taong 2016 hanggang 4th quarter ng 2019, nasa kabuuang 151,601 na anti-drug operations ang nagawa ng mga otoridad kung saan naaresto ang nasa 220,728 drug law violators kabilang ang 8,185 High Value Targets (HVT) at pagkasawi ng 5,552 drug personalities.
Nagresulta rin ang mga operasyon na mapaabot sa 16,706 ang bilang ng drug-free barangay sa bansa.
Nasa 421,724 drug patients naman ang nasa ilalim ng PNP-initiated and supported community centers recovery and wellness programs.
Samantala, sinabi ni Gamboa na nasa 55 pulis ang nasawi matapos isakripisyo ang kanilang buhay para labanan ang ilegal na droga sa bansa.
“But all these did not come without a price. Fifty-five (55) police officers had to put their lives on the line in this battle against drugs. It would be the height of disrespect to say that they died a useless death because they failed to stop the drug problem,” ani Gamboa.
Giit pa ng opisyal, hindi pa tapos ang kampanya ng pamahalaan kontra sa droga.
Marami pa aniyang kailangang gawing hakbang pagdating sa supply at demand reduction strategies.
Tututukan aniya ng PNP operational thrust sa taong 2020 ang mas pinaigting na intelligence at anti-illegal drugs operations partikular sa upper at middle-level na HVT.
Gayunman, ikinalulugod pa rin, ani Gamboa, na naging co-chair ng Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) si Robredo sa loob lamang ng 18 na araw.
