Ayon kay Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, kailangan ng pakikiisa ng lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno, local government units (LGU), partners at local health workers para tuluyang matapos ang outbreak sa bansa.
Sa NCR, nagtakda ng dalawang karagdagang round mula January 27 hanggang February 7 at March 9 hanggang March 20, 2020.
Sa Mindanao region naman, magkakaroon ng limited response round sa Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga City, Isabela City, at Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat sa January 6 hanggang 12, 2020.
Maliban dito, magsasagawa pa ng dalawa pang round sa Mindanao mula February 17 hanggang March 1 at March 23 hanggang April 4, 2020.
Dagdag pa ni Duque, layon ng kagawaran na maabot ang 95 porsyentong coverage sa lahat ng nabanggit na lugar sa kada gagawing round ng programa para matiyak na mababakunahan ang lahat ng bata.
“We need to provide evidence that the transmission of poliovirus is already contained before we can end the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio campaign. Therefore, the fight against polio is far from over. For us to effectively and successfully stop the transmission of this disease, we need to sustain our synchronized efforts. We must continue to ensure that no child is left unvaccinated,” ayon pa sa kalihim.
