2,350 na petitions for review naresolba ng DOJ noong 2019

Nakapagtala ng mataas na bilang ng mga naresolbang petitions for review ang Department of Justice (DOJ) sa nagdaang 2019.

Ayon sa DOJ, umabot sa 2,350 na petitions for review ang nadesisyunan noong 2019 pinakamataas sa nakalipas na tatlong taon.

Ayon kay Justice Asst. Sec. Neal Binto, ang bilang ay higit na mas mataas kumpara sa 1,727 na naresolba noong 2017 at 556 noong 2018.

Ang petitions for review ay inihahain sa office of the secretary sa DOJ sa layong mabaligtad ang resolusyon ng kaso na inihain sa piskalya.

Ayon naman kay DOJ spokesman at Undersecretary Markk Perete ang mas mataas na bilang ng naresolbang petitions for review noong 2019 ay bahagi ng layunin ng DOJ na mabawasan ang backlog ng mga kaso sa kagawaran.

Noong 2016 ayon kay Perete, umabot sa 13,000 hanggang 14,000 ang backlog ng mga hindi nareresolbang petitions for review sa DOJ.
