US Embassy sa Baghdad nagsuspinde ng consular operations

Pansamantalang sinuspinde ng US Embassy sa Baghdad, Iraq ang lahat ng kanilang consular operations matapos ang naging pag-atake ng Iran-backed militias at kanilang supporters noong Martes.

Sa isang statement araw ng Miyerkules, sinabi ng US Embassy na kanselado ang lahat ng future appointments.

Pinayuhan din ang lahat ng US citizens na huwag munang lumapit sa embahada.

“Due to militia attacks at the US Embassy compound, all public consular operations are suspended until further notice. All future appointments are cancelled. US citizens are advised to not approach the embassy,” ayon sa pahayag ng embassy.

Pinagbabato at nagpasiklab ng apoy ang mga demonstrador sa US Embassy sa Baghdad at sinira rin ang surveillance cameras.

Ang pag-atake ay bilang protesta sa airstrikes ng US sa Iran-backed militia group sa Iraq.

Sa isang tweet, nagbabala si US President Donald Trump na pananagutin ang Iran sa mga pinsala na idinulot ng pag-atake sa embahada.

“Iran will be held fully responsible for lives lost, or damage incurred at any of our facilities. They will pay a very BIG PRICE! This is not a Warning, it is a Threat,” ani Trump.
