Pilot implementation ng motorcycle taxis pinalawig ng LTFRB; 2 bagong players bibiyahe gaya ng Angkas
Pinalawig ng inter-agency Technical Working Group (TWG) on Motorcycle (MC) Taxis ang pilot implementation ng motorcycle taxis.
Ang extended pilot implementation ay magsisimula sa December 23, 2019 hanggang sa March 23, 2020.
Matapos ang isinagawang pag-aaral, inspeksyon at validation pinayagan din ang dalawa pang providers na makabiyahe bilang motorcycle taxis gaya ng ginagawa ngayon ng Angkas.
Kabilang sa dalawang bagong players ay ang JoyRide at Move It.
Dahil dito, mayroon nang tatlong opsyon ang publiko para sa motorcycle taxis, ito ay ang Angkas, JoyRide, at Move na bibiyahe sa ilalim ng Extended Pilot Implementation hanggang March 23, 2020.
Tinatayang ang tatlong providers ay mayroong 39,000 registered bikers o tig-10,000 bikers kada Transport Network Company (TNC) para sa Metro Manila at 3,000 bikers kada MC Taxi service provider sa Metro Cebu.
Ang naturang development ay napagkasunduan sa pulong na dinaluhan nina TWG Chairman at LTFRB Board Member Retired P/Maj. Gen. Antonio B. Gardiola Jr., Co-Chairman Asec. Edgar Galvante ng LTO, Vice-Chairman at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Board Member Engr. Ronaldo F. Corpus, Co-Vice Chairman Atty. Clarence V. Guinto ng LTO, Asec. Mark Steven Pastor ng DOTr-Legal, at maraming iba pang kinatawan mula LTO, DOTr, at LTFRB.
Dumalo din sa pulong si LTFRB Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra III, Atty. Ariel Inton ng Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection at si King Francis Ocampo ng Move Metro Manila.
