Mactan-Cebu International Airport nakakuha ng World Architecture award

Nagwagi ng parangal ang Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) Terminal 2 sa 2019 World Architecture Festival.

Panalo ang MCIA sa Completed Buildings: Transport Category kung saan naungusan pa nito ang Jewel Changi Airport ng Singapore, West Kowloon Station ng Hong Kong at Instanbul Airport ng Turkey.

Ayon sa MCIA, idinisenyo ang Terminal ng multi-awarded firm na Integrated Design Associates (IDA) Hong Kong at Principal Architect nitong Winston Shu.

Malaki rin ang ambag ng world-class Filipino designers sa arkitektura ng Terminal 2.

Isang judge ng World Architecture Festival ang nagsalarawan sa MCIA Terminal 2 bilang ‘simple and elegant’ dahil sa paggamit ng mga lokal na materyales.

Ang world-famous Cebuano furniture-maker na si Kennet Cobonpue ay tumulong sa konseptwalisasyon ng terminal.
